DELTA DENTAL OF MISSOURI NAMES NEW CHIEF ACTUARY AND VICE PRESIDENT OF UNDERWRITING

ST. LOUIS, MO (Feb. 10, 2016) – Delta Dental of Missouri today announced that Jonathan Jennings, of Lincoln, Neb., has been named the organization’s new chief actuary and vice president of underwriting. Jennings succeeds Rob Goren, who served in this position for six years before being promoted to president and CEO in August of last year. Jennings will be responsible for the actuarial, underwriting and client reporting departments at Delta Dental of Missouri and its subsidiaries.

Jennings brings with him more than a decade of actuarial and underwriting experience specific to the dental insurance industry. He has spent a majority of his career at Ameritas, in Lincoln, Neb., in a variety of underwriting and actuarial roles, most recently serving as the director and assistant actuary. In this role, Jennings designed and implemented certified pediatric dental plans for health care reform; instituted a new, and highly successful, dental pricing program; provided strategic oversight to a division-wide data warehouse initiative; and doubled vision revenue over a seven-year period. Prior to his time with Ameritas, he worked for Lincoln Benefit Life.

Jennings is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Physics, graduating magna cum laude from the Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. Jennings and his wife and two daughters will be relocating to the St. Louis area.
