DELTA DENTAL OF MISSOURI PROMOTES JENNINGS AND MASCOTE

 

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (July 24, 2023) … Delta Dental of Missouri – the state’s dental benefits leader and a non-profit organization – has promoted Jon Jennings and Cipriano Mascote to chief operating officer and chief actuarial officer, respectively. Jennings will direct the company’s operations, including its customer service, claims and project management teams. Mascote will lead the organization’s actuarial, analytics and underwriting teams.

Jennings joined Delta Dental of Missouri’s senior leadership team in 2016, to serve as chief actuary and vice president of underwriting. In 2018, his role was expanded to include leading the company’s project management team. Through Jennings’ strategic leadership, his teams were credited with developing innovative analytics and tools to best serve and retain clients, and drive consistent growth in securing new business.

Jennings is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in physics from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. He helps advance Delta Dental of Missouri’s mission to improve oral health in the state’s communities through his service as a board member for Give Kids a Smile® and as a volunteer for its dental clinics, which provide free care to St. Louis-area children in need.

Mascote began his tenure at Delta Dental of Missouri as an actuarial intern in 2009, earning promotions to various leadership positions, including as director of actuarial, analytics and underwriting, before being named to his current role. Mascote has chaired the Delta Dental Plans Association Industry Research Advisory Committee and serves as a member of its Business Strategy Council.

Mascote is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from Southern Illinois University, and holds a Predictive Analytics Certificate from the Society of Actuaries and an Advanced Management Certificate from Washington University. He is a member of the American Lung Association’s Emerging Leader Board and a longtime leader of the Delta Dental of Missouri team that participates annually in the American Lung Association’s Fight for Air Climb to raise funds to combat lung disease. He is also a multi-year volunteer at Missouri Mission of Mercy free dental clinics.
